Mica Miller

Mica Miller's case is a deeply tragic and complex narrative that has drawn national attention. The 30-year-old woman was found dead on April 27, 2024, at Lumber River State Park in North Carolina, with a gunshot wound to the head. Authorities quickly ruled her death a suicide, but the circumstances leading up to her death raised significant doubts among her family and the public.
Mica, who was married to Pastor John Paul (JP) Miller, had filed for divorce shortly before her death. She had gathered evidence of abuse and infidelity to support her claims. After being discharged from a mental health facility, Mica discovered her belongings and evidence were missing, and she was locked out of her digital accounts, which her husband allegedly used to create the illusion she was still active online.
Her family and friends, who doubted the suicide ruling, recalled Mica expressing fears for her life and saying, "if I end up with a bullet in my head, it was not by me, it was JP." Concerns also arose about JP's behavior, including moving assets to avoid their inclusion in the divorce settlement.
Mica's family and friends campaigned for a thorough investigation and held a memorial on the beach to celebrate her life and demand justice. The case remains under active public scrutiny. The allegations of abuse, asset manipulation, and potential evidence staging have kept the case in the spotlight.
