The bodies of two missing Liberty County, Georgia firefighters, Raegan Anderson and Chandler Kuhbander, were discovered on Sunday in Cocke County, Tennessee, along with Anderson’s vehicle, authorities confirmed.

The discovery was made by the Cocke County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), who are now leading the investigation into the case. The bodies have been sent for autopsy, with results pending to determine the cause of death.

This tragic conclusion follows a series of disturbing events that began on June 22.

According to a Hinesville Police report, Anderson caused a disturbance at an Olive Garden in Pooler, Georgia, where Kuhbander was on a date. Anderson allegedly keyed Kuhbander’s vehicle during the incident, leading to her arrest.

On June 24, the Liberty County Fire Department demoted Anderson and placed her on administrative leave. The following day, June 25, the department’s deputy chief requested a welfare check at Anderson’s home. While Anderson was not found at the residence, officers discovered a note suggesting she might harm herself.

The same day, Kuhbander was last seen leaving Crunch Fitness in Savannah around 11:30 a.m. Security footage captured him exiting the gym, but his vehicle remained in the parking lot. Anderson was later seen pumping gas at a Circle K in Prosperity, South Carolina. This was the last known location tracked by Kuhbander’s phone, according to his mother.

Subsequently, Anderson’s vehicle was spotted traveling towards Tennessee. The search intensified as concerns grew for Kuhbander’s safety, with his family believing he did not leave willingly with Anderson.

The bodies of Anderson and Kuhbander were ultimately found on Hollow Road in Cosby, Tennessee. The TBI, working alongside the Cocke County Sheriff’s Office, is now investigating whether any weapons or drugs were found in the vehicle or the surrounding area. Additionally, authorities are looking into the nature of the location where the bodies were found, seeking to determine whether it is a highly traveled area or more secluded.

As the investigation continues, many questions remain unanswered. Authorities say they are working diligently to piece together the events that led to this tragic outcome.

Autopsy results may provide further clarity on the circumstances of their deaths.
