Investigators have pieced together a detailed timeline implicating the suspects in the murders of Veronica Butler and Jilian Kelley through phone records and surveillance footage. The court documents reveal the suspects’ coordinated efforts and failed attempts to cover their tracks.

The probable cause affidavit for the murders of Veronica Butler and Jilian Kelley reveals a chilling narrative. According to court documents, all three suspects’ phones were found at the location where Butler’s car was discovered, confirming their presence at the crime scene. The phones accessed the cellular network near the suspect’s residence before and after the crime, suggesting a coordinated effort. On March 30, 2024, the phones were traced to a property owned by Jamie Beasley, where fresh dirt work was observed, indicating a possible burial site.

Further investigation uncovered concrete moved from the property, revealing a hole that had been filled back in and covered with hay, eight and a half miles from where Butler’s vehicle was found. This timeline fits within the 34 minutes between the phones’ activity cessation and their reactivation at the burial site. Moreover, a young girl’s crucial testimony and the sheer volume of evidence, including DNA and fingerprints, highlight the suspects’ lack of sophistication in executing the crime.

In an attempt to cover their tracks, one suspect went as far as requesting old tires to obscure any tire prints that could be traced back to them. However, the investigation meticulously linked the suspects to the crime through multiple surveillance cameras capturing their movements before and after the murder.

This case underscores the importance of thorough police work and the role of community vigilance in solving heinous crimes. The suspects’ attempt to outsmart the system was ultimately foiled by the detailed and persistent efforts of law enforcement.
