Newly released documents, including a 911 call, provide a disturbing glimpse into the coercive control allegedly exercised by Pastor John Paul Miller over his wife, Mica Francis Miller. The call, made by Mica’s sister, Sierra Francis, on November 16, 2022, illustrates the extent of the control and threats that plagued their relationship.
On the night of the call, Sierra informed dispatchers that her sister’s husband, JP Miller, was heading to her house “armed and ready.” He was expected to arrive by 12:55 a.m., and Sierra expressed her fear for their safety. This call was one of many incidents in the couple’s tumultuous seven-year marriage, which ended with Mica’s suspicious death in April 2024.
The 911 call reveals that JP Miller had been sending threatening messages to Mica, demanding she drive down the street or face severe consequences. Sierra shared that Miller had recently purchased six firearms, escalating their fears. Despite a GPS indication that Miller had not left Myrtle Beach, his threatening messages suggested otherwise.
The dispatcher advised Sierra to send photos of the threatening texts, and officers were dispatched to check the vicinity. The call further detailed past incidents, including Miller changing the locks on their home and throwing Mica’s belongings outside during arguments.
